About United Way

OUR COMMUNITY CAN’T RECOVER WITHOUT YOU

The GTA has been deeply affected by COVID-19. People and families who are experiencing poverty and related issues continue to face overwhelming challenges. As we begin to recover from this crisis, the demand for social services will increase dramatically. There are serious issues facing people in our communities: Hunger and homelessness. Education inequality, unemployment and social isolation. Mental illness and domestic violence.

We need your help to:

  • Help support a strong social safety net across the GTA
  • Ensure basic and urgent needs, including food, shelter and mental health supports are accessible
  • Prevent low-income neighbourhoods, and the people who live there, from falling farther behind
  • Support our community's young people as they navigate this crisis
  • Help people find shelter and stay housed
  • Support a strong social safety net across the GTA
